In recent times, you would find that most of the fatal accidents are occurring due to fire. They can easily take your house or your office into their grip in a fraction of seconds. Although there can be many reasons that can start a fire, factors that can be controlled are enumerated below.

The kitchen can rightly be called the most fire prone room in your house. This place is the home to fire hazards, if not attended properly. It has been seen that unattended hot plates & toasters, cook books near the gas flames and unprotected dishes from microwave are the potential causes of fire in most of our homes.

Other common reason that has lead to many fire hazards is the electrical cords and wires. Chewed or frayed electrical cords have been the reason of many houses and offices put on fire. Power strips when overloaded can lead to extreme high level of fire. Exposed or naked electrical wires also pose a high threat.

Keeping an inflammable product very close to a hot item can be very hazardous. Some examples include lamp shade close to heated bulb, curtain or clothes very near to radiator and any inflammable material very close to space heater. Wood stoves and fire places can also be potential fire hazards, if not used properly. Malfunctioning in electrical appliances, carelessly thrown still burning cigarettes or candles can also be a colossal fire hazard.

There is no doubt that fire hazards are innumerable. However, it can be stopped only by you. You just have to be extra cautious to avoid the occurrence of such an event around you.
